Why use a First Stage and Second Stage Regulator Separately?

When the large supply tank is installed a long distance from the point of use of the gas, then installation of the First Stage (high pressure) Regulator separately from the Second Stage (low pressure) Regulator may be advantageous in order to avoid noticeable pressure drops in the gas delivery downstream.

The large capacity first stage regulator (RED) pictured at right is factory set at 10 psi. The adjustment range, (normally not necessary), is 5-10 psig. It is equipped with an integral relief valve and built-in 1/8" FNPT pressure gauge tap. Outfitted with a #204051 Full Flow POL tank connector which has 1/4" MNPT inlet. Gas outlet is 1/2" FNPT. Supplied with TS900 mounting bracket, like on the picture at right.
