1502 - Log lighter and Gas Heat Assist Pipe Burner, complete assembly with Propane gas regulator.


►   Same as Above PLUS a 10 PSI high pressure regulator for proane with a 5' hose, needle valve, holding clamp, with brass adapter to make the UL approved hose fit the log lighter pipe

►   To install the log lighter simply unscrew the 1/2" threaded plug at the rear of the firebox and slide the log lighter pipe into the firebox.

►   When used in a Tejas Smokers pit you can use the bar clamp to hold the log lighter in place permanently or simply let it fit loose and pull it out after the wood starts. Be sure to replace the 1/2" plug when you remove the log lighter.

►   Longer hoses and quick connect hoses are available by request.

►   The LPG gas log lighter pipe will save you a half hour every time you start your logs. Simply turn on the gas from your propane tank and light the log lighter, wait a few minutes, and the logs are in flames. This procedure also eliminates the need for using charcoal and smelly charcoal lighter fluid. The natural gas version is available by request at the same price.

►   This unit also works well as a gas assist for maintaining a constant temperature in a pit when you don't want to use wood logs or charcoal. A relatively small flame will maintain the pit at 225 degrees (or higher).

►   The log lighter pipe itself, not including the cast iron venturi (gas/air mixing chamber) is 16 1/4" in length. Measuring from the end of the venturi, there is 4 1/4" of pipe before the first hole. Then the series of holes continue for 10 1/2". Measuring from the final hole there is 1 1/2" of  pipe to the end of the assembly.

PBM-MODIFY - Custom Length Pipe Burner Modification.

There is a $50.00 charge for custom length modifications of pipe burners to shorten them from one of the stocked sizes.


If you need a 31" pipe burner, for example, you should purchase a 32" stocked unit (with or without a grease shield) and we will shorten the pipe and weld a 1/8" thick round steel plate on the end. Such reductions in length come from the flame length section of the pipe and not the smooth "throat" region near the venturi. Refer to photo at right to see how a custom length end would look.

PBMG125 - Pipe Burner with Grease Shield - (support LEGS are an option)

  PBMG125

PBMG125 - Straight Pipe Burner 1 1/4" ID in 32", 44", 56", or 68" lengths with a permanently welded 3" high grease shield.

  • We stock 32", 44", 56", and 68" pipe burners assemblies.(As measured from one end of the pipe to the opposite end of the pipe's threads.)
  • The pipe burners are 1.25"ID and 1.5"OD with a standard schedule 40 pipe wall thickness. These assemblies include a welded end cap at one end and a venturi at the other end.
  • For supporting the assembly we recommend a cradle out of a well supported length of angle iron. A cradle support will permit easy removal of the burner unit for cleaning, when necessary.
  • Our pipe burners have been engineered and tested to give a even, high heat blue flames across the length of the pipe and they easily light.
  • The first 8" of the pipe is used as the "throat" of the burner and does not have any holes for flames. This space is required for the air and gas to mix efficiently in order to have a nice blue flame. Don't waste propane using a pipe burner that burns an inefficient yellow flame.
